Further to the note earlier today concerning speculation as to the successor to Michelle K. Lee as Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce in charge of the Patent Office, a highly reliable source has said that the short list includes Phil Johnson (who prior to the Lee appointment had been in the works for her position but then faced strong opposition from some industry segments), Mike McKeon and Steve Pinkos.
