The Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA) is one of the nation’s premier intellectual property law associations. Since 1934, LAIPLA has been educating and connecting members of the local intellectual property legal community.
As a non-profit organization with more than 1,000 members, and 30+ Member Firms and Companies, LAIPLA represents a mix of in-house, large and small firm, and government attorneys; solo practitioners; and law students and professors who specialize in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and entertainment and technology law.
LAIPLA offers a diverse array of events, including full-day seminars, evening events, and lunch events, including events for sub-groups such as Young Lawyers, Women in IP, and Small Firm and Solo Practitioners.
LAIPLA awards an annual Distinguished Public Service Award to a member who has made a significant contribution to the public good, and a Diversity Fellowship to increase diversity in the Intellectual Property Bar.
State Bar of California approved MCLE provider
The Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider (#2083). LAIPLA maintains copies of the MCLE sign-in sheets for a period not to exceed five (5) years. While LAIPLA provides Certificates of Attendance to each Attendee, it is the Attendee’s responsibility to verify his/her attendance at the event by signing the MCLE sign-in sheet for each day of the event.
