Melvin Pearson Williams(†)(1930-2016)

September 15, 2016| in Wegner's Writings| by Hal Wegner

Mel Williams was one of the many leading patent attorneys to graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the George Washington Law School. He served for twenty-five years at United Technologies until his retirement in 1992.  In that organization he rose to become head of its patent operation.  During his time as a leader at United Technologies, Mel was active in Intellectual Property Owners, Inc., where he was known as a blunt spoken advocate for the patent system.

After retirement, he spent more than a decade in private practice, finally retiring from this second career in 2014.

With sadness,
Hal
