Several folks have noted that the winning argument was presented by Associate Solicitor Philip Warrick in what appears to be his first Federal Circuit appearance since joining the Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to coming to the PTO the Associate Solicitor had been a key figure in a prominent Oregon patent litigation firm, and prior to that time had been a Law Clerk at the Federal Circuit.
