The former Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit is quoted in IAM Magazine as “remain[ing] a candidate for the [PTO] Director position and believ[ing] that [he] possess[es] the energy, experience, and ability to ‘make patents great again’”.
Regards,
Hal
From IAM Magazine ,Comment from Randall Rader: “Yes, I remain a candidate for the Director position and believe that I possess the energy, experience, and ability to ‘make patents great again’ as part of the campaign to ‘make America great again.’ The President seems to be emphasising jobs. I have said often that one key to protect US jobs is to protect the intellectual property that creates and sustains those jobs.
“Few understand the international IP market as I do and can pursue the goal of protecting US IP worldwide. Few understand the inner workings of the USPTO as I do and understand ways to increase its efficiency and eproductivity.
“I hope that I get the chance to serve this Administration at the USPTO.”
