Congratulations to Japan Patent Office Commissioner Hitoshi Ito as he approaches retirement from his country’s civil service, capping a highly successful career in government service. Commissioner Ito has held his current post since July 2014, and previously had served with distinction in a wide variety of leadership positions. Early in his career he had been stationed in the New York office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
