Nina Boyajian, Shareholder, Greenberg Traurig, LLP
Nina D. Boyajian is a partner in the litigation and intellectual property practice groups of Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles office. Her areas of concentration include trademark, copyright (including DMCA), privacy (e.g., right of publicity and TCPA class action defense), and First Amendment counseling and litigation. Nina has been involved in all stages of litigation from pre-litigation diligence and enforcement through preliminary injunction proceedings, discovery, summary judgment, trial, and appeal, achieving favorable results and settlements for her clients. Nina has represented clients across a variety of industries, both in enforcing their intellectual property rights and defending against claims of infringement. As a corollary to her trademark litigation practice, Nina also provides strategic trademark portfolio management counseling.
In addition to her intellectual property and privacy litigation practice, Nina also has broad experience litigating general business disputes, particularly in the entertainment space. Her litigation and trial experience extends to both state and federal courts nationwide.
Nina earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California, and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, with College Honors.
Mark McKenna, Professor of Law and Vice Dean of Faculty & Intellectual Life, UCLA School of Law
Mark P. McKenna is Professor of Law at UCLA School of Law, where he teaches and writes in the areas of intellectual property and privacy law. Though his core area of expertise is trademark law, he has written broadly on nearly every area of intellectual property, including utility patent, design patent, copyright, and the right of publicity. His most recent work has focused on the intersection of intellectual property rights regimes and the intersection of IP rights with adjacent rights.
McKenna joined the UCLA School of Law in July of 2021. He was previously the John P. Murphy Foundation Professor of Law at the Notre Dame Law School. He has also been a visiting professor at Stanford Law School, the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center, and the Turin University-WIPO Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Program.
Prior to joining the Notre Dame faculty, McKenna was a member of the faculty at Saint Louis University School of Law and practiced law with an intellectual property firm in Chicago, where he primarily litigated trademark and copyright cases. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1997 with a degree in Economics and earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2000.
In addition to various intellectual property courses, McKenna teaches Information Privacy Law and the first-year Torts class, and has previously taught Civil Procedure.

Julianna Simon, Associate, Greenberg Traurig, LLP
Julianna Simon is a commercial litigator with a primary focus on intellectual property disputes and business disputes. Julianna works with clients to develop and implement legal strategies tailored to each client’s unique business objectives. Julianna is experienced in managing cases at various stages of litigation, including first chairing trial, drafting and arguing substantive and procedural motions, and taking and defending depositions. Julianna’s litigation experience extends to state and federal courts nationwide and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (“TTAB”). In addition, Julianna has trademark prosecution experience and counsels clients about brand protection, including parallel imports.
