Matt Stratton is the Deputy General Counsel of Dr. Squatch, a high-growth leader in personal care products. He is responsible for helping the company navigate the myriad legal issues it encounters. These include litigation, intellectual property, marketing/claims substantiation, employment disputes, and consumer protection laws.
Matt is also the primary legal adviser to the founders of a stealth AI startup. It’s product will solve IP infringement and copyright authorship problems arising from AI-generated images that presently vex corporate marketing departments and content creators.
Prior, Matt was Director and Head of IP at Snap Inc., and before that was Associate General Counsel at Meta — a combined 10 years of senior in-house experience at major content platforms. At Snap, Matt managed legal teams and processes at the intersection of AI, product, content, brands, commercial deals, and platform safe harbors. He is a proven people manager.
Matt is a periodic speaker with the Practising Legal Institute (PLI), USC’s Gould School of Law IP Institute, International Trademark Association (INTA), and other organizations and events. He is annually recognized on the “WTR 300” ranking of leading corporate IP attorneys by the World Trademark Review.
