Patent, Trade Mark, Copyright and Trade Secret Law
About LAIPLA
For more than 80 years, the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association has been a preeminent intellectual property law organization. Although LAIPLA attracts members from across the nation and internationally, we focus on serving the needs of local IP practitioners. We have over 2,000 members that range from large and small law firms, solo practitioners, and law students, to government and in-house attorneys.
LAIPLA offers a diverse array of programming throughout the year. We host full- or multi-day high-impact programs focused on cutting edge issues in technology law and entertainment, patent prosecution and IP litigation. Please click here [Events] to learn more about our TechTainment, Washington in the West, and flagship Spring Seminar conferences.
We also provide programs geared toward bringing the judiciary and the local IP bar together, including our Judges’ Night Gala and our Courthouse Lunch program. We also regularly hold in-person and virtual events targeted to membership sub-groups such as Young Lawyers, Women in IP, and Small Firm practitioners, and practice specialists in the fields of Patent/Trade Secret and Copyright/Trademark.
Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship
LAIPLA aims to serve at the vanguard of promoting diversity in the IP legal community. To this end, each year we award an LAIPLA Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship to two meritorious recipients. The Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship award provides a stipend for a law student to work for 10 weeks in an in-house legal department at a participating company. For information on the Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship program or how to apply, please contact office@laipla.net.
