Young Lawyers Outreach Committee

The Young Lawyers Outreach Committee is comprised of law students and attorneys who are either (i) under forty or (ii) who have been practicing law for ten years or less. The goal of the committee is to create a network of young and/or new attorneys who aim to become successful intellectual property lawyers and to assist them in that task. The committee also plans specific mini-programs that precede LAIPLA’s monthly dinner meetings. The Young Lawyers Committee seeks to provide a platform for feedback to the LAIPLA Board so that the LAIPLA may continue to have a diverse membership and to address the interests of junior lawyers.

Throughout the year, the Young Lawyers Committee will sponsor “nuts & bolts” short seminars put on by more senior attorneys aimed to benefit junior lawyers. Over the past years, the Young Lawyers Committee has put on several successful and well attended programs, including panels on “How To Succeed Early in Your Practice,” “Top 10 Writing Tips,” and “Perspectives from the Bench: Insider Information from Federal Court Clerks.” See Young Lawyers event photos.

The LAIPLA is excited to mentor this energetic group and is looking forward to more Young Lawyers events in the future. The Young Lawyers Committee is looking to recruit additional members. New members will have the opportunity to be considered for chair and board positions on the committee as it grows in the future.
