Law School Outreach Committee

The Law School Outreach Committee aims to spread the word about intellectual property careers to law school students in the Greater Los Angeles area. Every year, we organize our annual “Law School Road Show,” putting on panel discussions at local law schools and providing perspectives from attorneys working at big law firms, small law firms, and corporations.

In the past, we’ve visited the following law schools: Loyola Law School, Pepperdine Law School, Southwestern Law School, UCLA School of Law, USC Gould School of Law, UC Irvine School of Law, and Whittier Law School. The panel discussions typically start with a short talk from the panel members, allowing each attorney to describe his or her practice. Then, students are encouraged to ask questions to panel members. See Law School Road Show photos.

These Law School Road Shows garner substantial student interest. Every year, we receive highly positive feedback from students, who report that the panel discussions provide helpful and timely career information. The attorney panelists enjoy the opportunity to meet budding lawyers and to give something back to the law school community.

This coming year, we hope to continue the success of past Road Shows.
